Vision: We strive to create well-rounded, lifelong learners who are equipped with the social, emotional, and academic skills necessary to succeed in all future endeavors. Our Philosophy We believe that learning is important, both inside and outside the classroom. We have built programs that meet the highest academic and extracurricular standards. We make sure every child feels safe, cared for, and challenged to do their best. Here, children learn what they are good at and learn to respect what makes others special. By exploring the world together, they learn how to work as a team and celebrate everyone’s talents. The international makeup of our student body lends itself to unique learning opportunities. Our style of teaching builds on proven traditional methods by also incorporating newer developments in child psychology, technology, and science. Our goal is to help our students do well in school, be kind to others, and understand the world. We teach them to think carefully, ask questions, and care about learning. Our pursuit of excellence as a school depends on each student’s desire to pursue his or her talents in academics, athletics, the arts, leadership, and helping others. Likewise, we must do our part as a school community to provide the most opportunities possible for each child’s growth. Teachers, parents, and students all work together to make this happen. With everyone’s help, we create a strong, caring school where every child can succeed. From the Acting Head of School Doris Quintero Dear Parent, Since 1991, The Honor Roll School in Sugar Land has been known for its excellence in preschool through 8th grade education. Parents have complimented us on our passionate and dedicated teachers, our standards-based curriculum, and our understanding of the needs of each child. Our preschool curriculum was designed by a team of highly skilled experts in curriculum design, instruction, and assessment. Links to Learning, our preschool curriculum for children ages 2 to 5 years, takes advantage of a child’s readiness to learn with activities that are fun, challenging, and engaging. Our elementary and middle school programs provide opportunities for students to master basic skills, problem solve, make positive decisions, and practice higher-level thinking. Teachers personalize lessons to ensure that they are stimulating and challenging for each student. We believe that beyond the core subjects, classes in art, music, technology, Spanish, and physical education are essential to educating the whole child. Our curriculum is founded on rich and challenging content that engages students and inspires them to develop a love of learning. We understand however, that students need more than academic knowledge to achieve future success. Field trips are one way to help our students make connections to lessons learned in the classroom. Some places we have visited include Camp Olympia, Artist Boat, Mainstreet Theater, Bush Presidential Library, Houston Zoo, Interactive Aquarium. Our after-school program runs from 3:30 to 6:00 pm, and includes activities such as homework helper, arts and crafts, free play discovery time, sports and snack time. We understand life can be hectic. We are here to accommodate your busy schedule. Please feel free to contact us to schedule a private tour. I look forward to meeting with you, learning about your child’s educational needs, and discussing how we can work together to meet them. Sincerely, Doris Quintero Acting Head of School Read More Frequently Asked Questions What grades does The Honor Roll School in Sugar Land serve?
