Here at The Honor Roll School our students have the opportunity to compete in various different academic competitions. These competitions are typically held at the school, regional, national, or international level and cover a wide range of subjects, including math, science, language arts, social sciences, arts, and more. The primary goal of academic competitions is to encourage students to excel academically, foster intellectual development, and promote healthy competition. They provide students with an opportunity to showcase their expertise, challenge themselves, and interact with peers who share similar interests. These competitions often involve rigorous testing, problem-solving exercises, presentations, debates, or performance evaluations, depending on the nature of the competition.
What is PSIA?
The Private Schools Interscholastic Association consists of 19 contest categories covering a wide range of disciplines, PSIA is an exciting opportunity for private school students in grades 1 through 8 to engage in academic competition with their peers throughout the state of Texas.
Throughout the 2022-2023 school year we had several of our own students represent both themselves and The Honor Roll school at both the district and state level PSIA competitions. Back in April, these students traveled to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX for the state competition, where they competed against sixty other schools in their division. THRS took state by storm and brought home 48 medals and/or ribbons. We are so incredibly proud of our students and all their hard w0rk throughout this competition season and even more proud to present ourselves as the 2023 Class AA PSIA State Champions in both the Elementary and Middle School divisions! Way to go, Dolphins!
This accomplishment would not have been possible without all of our parent volunteers, academic coaches, competitors, and peers who show up every single day to challenge each other in the classroom!
